UV Printing

What Is UV Printing?

UV printing (ultraviolet printing) is an innovative process in which special inks are instantly cured—or “dried”—with UV light. Instead of penetrating the substrate, the ink remains on the surface and hardens within seconds under ultraviolet radiation, creating an abrasion-resistant, smudge-proof image immediately.
Unlike other techniques, UV printing requires no solvents or evaporation time, making it both highly efficient and environmentally friendly.

Advantages and Use on Specialty Papers

UV printing is ideal for non-absorbent surfaces such as synthetic non-wovens or coated specialty papers. Its key advantages include:

  • Superior print quality

  • Instant curing

  • Versatility across a wide range of substrates

  • Long-lasting results

Preferred applications:

  • Security and label printing

  • Premium packaging

  • Coated technical papers

  • Weather-resistant products

UV printing also offers high colour brilliance, precise detail reproduction and excellent adhesion—even on challenging substrates—and its rapid curing enables high production speeds.
