Document paper is the substrate for documents that must endure for decades – from certificates and register sheets to vehicle documents and official notices. Key requirements include high tear and fold strength, excellent resistance to ageing and temperature, as well as reliable personalisation and processability. LAHNPAPER develops technical speciality substrates that remain dimensionally stable and legible even when exposed to moisture, frequent handling and intensive use.
Documents with archival or legal character place special demands on the material:
These applications benefit from the combination of high mechanical robustness, resistance to moisture and temperature, and the ability to integrate protective features as required.
Our substrates are suitable for a wide range of printing and finishing processes. We offer grades for sheet-fed and web offset, UV offset, screen and flexographic printing as well as laser, HP Indigo and UV inkjet applications.
Converting options include folding, perforating, die-cutting, creasing, drilling, bonding and embossing (e.g. blind or hot foil stamping). Please note the process-specific suitability of each grade and our recommendation to conduct pre-testing within your own production process.
As an established manufacturer of technical speciality papers, LAHNPAPER combines over 100 years of papermaking expertise with modern development capabilities. For document paper, you benefit from:
A specially developed substrate for documents requiring long service and archival life. It combines high mechanical strength, resistance to moisture and temperature, and document-proof properties – depending on the grade, tested in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9706 / DIN 6738.
Our speciality papers neobond® and pretex® can – on request – be equipped with fluorescent/non-fluorescent fibres, watermarks or reactive dyes. This enables increased authenticity and protection against manipulation.
Depending on the grade, including offset (sheet-fed/web), UV offset, screen printing, flexographic printing, laser, as well as selectively HP Indigo and (UV) inkjet. For details, please refer to the printability matrix; we recommend pre-testing under production conditions.
